A Healthy Return from Jupiter :)

The second piece I want to feature is one that resides in the home of my parents - Robert & Sandra Zanzig. The title is "Return From Jupiter". I painted it immediately upon return from a visit with them in my hometown - Jupiter, Florida.

From an airplane, shapes of land areas always inspire me in their composition. The color palette of the painting is based on the actual colors of the land shapes I flew over and goes perfectly with the decor of my parents home.

The obvious place to hang this piece is in the dining room. Their dining room is in the Health area of the Feng Shui Bagua. As the "heart" of their home, it's a perfect place for the family and guests to gather for meals.

Earth tones are enhancing in this area, and green is a color representative of family. Square is the shape to encourage good fortune for this area. Lavender is symbolic of wealth and I feel much fortune in my family.

A comfortable, earthy addition to the dining room can only bring family closer and welcome visitors into the fold. For more views of this piece or to see my other work, stop by Southwest Young Rabbit!

New series launch at my place!

My 10"x10" Series consists of paintings on 10"x10" deep profile canvases. The series is made up of sets. Each set focuses on a specific element and it's enhancing properties according to the art of Feng Shui. Each canvas can be hung on it's own or in combination with others to create a unique Feng Shui solution for you home's needs or hearts desire. You can view the other sets to date on my website.

I designed the first set in the series for the Reputation area of my own home. I chose this area simply because I wanted to hang some artwork there. It's a part of my home I hadn't paid much attention to thus far. Attention to all areas of the Bagua is important to maintain a balanced, even energy flow through the entire dwelling.

The 10"x10" Series is being developed in sets of 6 canvases per Bagua area, however, since I custom designed this set for a specific space in my home, I used nine canvases. The number nine and groupings of nine are fortunate in this area.

As an area enhanced by fire, I used triangles, yellow, red, and rose as primary design elements. Animal prints can be used to enhance fire areas because they represent fast, very active energy. My personal enhancing element is metal, so I've included silver in the color palette. Silver and animal print coordinate with other components of the room as well. See below...

I combined canvases using very simple design with more complex layouts to keep the overall composition balanced. The animal print adds visual texture and gives some organic interest to the very geometric nature of the other squares.
